Several people asked what it means to run as a write-in candidate, so let me explain.
A Write-in Candidate has no Political Party affiliation. Anyone running as a Republican, Democrat, or Independent has a different set of deadlines, and runs in the regularly scheduled Primary Election.

A Write-in Candidate has no Political Party affiliation. Anyone running as a Republican, Democrat, or Independent has a different set of deadlines, and runs in the regularly scheduled Primary Election.
Texas law requires an official Declaration of Write-In Candidacy to be filed during a specific filing window. For the November 2026 General Election, that window opened July 18 and closed at 5:00 p.m. on August 17.
Once the Declaration of Write-In Candidacy is accepted, that person becomes an official certified write-in candidate, and votes cast for that candidate can be counted. My campaign is about transparency. I believe it’s important to explain the process as we go.
